Would it be possible to expand this for pxeinstalling? --Taspts 21:44, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi Per. I suppose the changes to "init" would belong here, but IMHO other content for PXE boot/install belongs elsewhere in the User Guide - for example the setup of the TFTP server belongs in Bering-uClibc 4.x - User Guide - Installing the Disk Image. My personal preference is to make PXELINUX a "standard"and fully supported installation variant, equivalent to SYSLINUX and ISOLINUX, with no need for admins to hack about with initrd.lrp. That means some changes to the format of LEAFCFG and PKGPATH and some corresponding changes to "init", but it should not be so bad (as in recent mails on leaf-devel). First step is to support a read-only PXE boot, adding saving of configuration later, but I think even that will have to wait for v4.1. Do you have PXE boot working already? We or rather my friend built an other system instead, so currently I have no HW until I have changed our network from a /27 to /24. That would free a 4501. I'm retired due to a neurological problems that puts a limit on what I can work with. The mail I sent on devel list do you agree on what I propose ? If you agree I would move ahead and make changes.--Taspts 18:43, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
